I’d been dealing with a health issue for months and another doc just waved it off. Then I saw Dr. Kaufman and she actually paid attention, ordered extra tests, and figured out what was really going on. She explained everything in plain English and got me on the right treatment fast. Her willingness to dig deeper made all the difference. So glad I switched to her care, she caught what everyone else missed. Highly recommend her if you ever feel ignored.

Dr. Kaufman is an amazing doctor- she is probably one of the first doctors that addressed care surrounding mental health and when I went into a depressive episode, she called me one week later to check up on me out of her very busy schedule. She is an expert in women’s health/gynecology and listened to all my concerns over symptoms related to PCOS. She has more knowledge and actually cares about patients than the gynecologist that I used to see. Didn’t even bother to see the gynecologist anymore, after Dr.Kaufman’s care for the issue.

Took my two-year-old to Dr. Kaufman for her checkup and vaccines, and we were really impressed. It’s not easy to find a family doctor who’s great with kids and adults alike, but Dr. Kaufman is the real deal.

When we were picking a doctor for our baby’s arrival, we hit the jackpot with Dr. Kaufman. Right from the start, she made things easy to understand and always had the patience to answer our questions, no matter how small.

Dr L Kaufman has been our DR since our Dr moved on to another role. We were not given a choice she was just assigned. I agree with Jesicca completely, she is so far out of touch of trauma and mental health and does not like being challenged at all. She should not be working in the capacity of a CHC at all, her ignorance and at times racist views come through loud and clear! There is also no point in bringing a complaint,all they do is take the complaint then they do nothing with it . Kaufman is quick to prescribe but not quick to hear homeopathic views at all. I find her dangerous and people of colour as well as Indigenous community should be extra careful having her as a DR or taking your concerns to her ! SO DISAPPOINTING, SHAME UNITY HEALTH. DO BETTER! I am happy she called to check in on your family DC but that may not be and was not the case for my family, ever !

Dr. Kaufman was my assigned doctor during the delivery of my baby. She rushed to start the induction and broke my water, even-though the baby was high and I was marginally dilated. With the start of the induction, the fetal heart rate dropped several times. She didn’t speak to me or my husband during this stressful period and we had no idea what was happening. She called in the on-call OBGYN who was not happy that the induction was started under these conditions. I ended up having an emergency c-section. She did not speak to me through the whole labour, and didn’t bother to check on me after the c-section.

Please don’t believe Jessica’s comment— On the contrary, Dr Liana Kaufman’s a very good family doctor who has attended to our needs since our child was born. She values mental health and is a very caring doctor. She does follow-up calls and makes sure we are okay.

Also, just because there’s one vague comment on the internet does not mean that is the truth. There is more to the person than 1 comment. I would highly recommend Dr. Liana Kaufman at St Michael’s.

Dr liana Kaufman is terrible as a downtown dr who does not like to deal with mental health issues at all! I left her quickly and my daughter did also because dr kaufman would not listen to what was being said to her in the least about our health.
