Bedside Manner

Not impressed with her approach to my client. Arrogant and unapproachable. Cold and distant. She looked very tired and unhappy. She might have had a rough morning, but that cannot go out over the patients. A smile would have made a big difference. Individuals needing psychiatry services have often experienced past or present trauma from family, events or even from being hospitalized in psychiatric facilities. The attitudes, stigma and approaches have to change for people to feel more comfortable seeking help.
My client left the appointment feeling sad, hopeless, and frustrated that her issues were not taken seriously. No relief from suffering.
Dr. Sacevich did not take the time to talk to and listen to my client. She came in with what appeared to be an already set agenda and plan for treatment based on records from the past. Spoke over the client and interrupted several times when my client tried to explain her concerns.
Kindness and common courtesy goes a long way and could have made a huge difference if it had been present.
